SOURCE
MATERIALS AT BBS BOUTIQUE, TOKYO, JAPAN, DECEMBER 2006
The BBS Boutique
in Tokyo, Japan asked brothers Gordon and Timothy Hull to create a project
above the clothing racks in their retail store. Essentially, the installation
that was created exemplified the source materials that the brothers use as
inspiration to create works of art. It reads as a catalogue of the images that
have inspired and charmed the brothers. Not unlike channel surfing or internet
search engine browsing, Source Materials is inspired by the random yet
subjective flow of information and the tenuous connections between subject
matters. It also serves as a window into the minds of Timothy and Gordon Hull
and invokes a visual stream of consciousness.
